One of the Thirteen Planets

Venus

Values

Venus is the planet of values. In Human Design it establishes your morals: your personal sense of right and wrong, and the natural laws by which you deal with other people and with the world. It is also, as it has always been, the planet of love and beauty, because what you love and what you find beautiful are values too. Its archetype is the youngest daughter, and its temperament is tender until it is crossed.

Personality (black) and Design (red)

Human Design is clear that Venus has teeth. When you act without moral clarity, or when the people around you do, Venus is where the reckoning begins. The values set here become law in Jupiter, and any punishment for breaking them arrives through Saturn. Venus, Jupiter and Saturn are one chain, and Venus is the first link.

On the Personality Side

Your Personality Venus is the value system you know you hold. It is what you consciously consider right, fair, beautiful and worth protecting, and the gate names the territory. The moral questions that keep coming up in your life, the lines you will not cross and the things you cannot forgive, are all described here.

On the Design Side

Your Design Venus is the body's own moral code, running beneath awareness. You may never have put it into words, but you feel it as a physical response when something is off: a tightening, a recoil, a sense that this is not how things should be done. Others see it in what you consistently protect without being asked to.

Reading It In Your Chart

Find the Venus glyph on each side and note the gate. Read it as the subject of your ethics rather than as a personality trait. A Venus in the Heart Center values loyalty and the kept promise; in the Spleen it values what is healthy and safe; in the Solar Plexus it values emotional truth. Then follow the chain. Look at your Jupiter to see the law these values became, and at your Saturn to see where you pay if you break it.

Love and Beauty

The romantic Venus of astrology is not lost here, only placed in context. What you find beautiful and who you love are expressions of what you value, and reading the Venus gate often explains an attraction that never quite made sense on its own. It is the part of you that knows what matters before the mind has an argument for it.
