The Martyr

Line 3 is the Martyr, the great experimenter. Third lines learn by trial and error, bumping into life and discovering, faster than anyone, what does not work. This makes them resilient, adaptable catalysts of change, and gives them the theme of bonds made and broken. Lived correctly, there is no such thing as failure for a third line, only discovery; each thing that breaks carries useful information. Their gift is to test the material world directly and hand the rest of us hard-won, practical truth.
