Line 1 - Second Class Ticket
Exalted: (Moon) A genuine ease with not being the one in charge. You can take a supporting seat and actually enjoy it, and there is real emotional intelligence in knowing that the second chair suits you.
Detriment: (Mars) Claiming a seat you have not earned. When emotional energy runs ahead of awareness and you push for a place that is not yours, the social correction that follows is uncomfortable.
Line 2 - Charm School
Exalted: (Sun) Style as a genuine drawing power. A well-practised charm can carry a room, and you can attract people with the feel of you long before they know anything else about you.
Detriment: (Jupiter) Style hardened into the whole point. When the polish is fed at the expense of the awareness underneath it, the manner becomes a substitute for substance rather than a doorway to it.
Line 3 - The Enchanter
Exalted: (Saturn) Grace where the manner and the meaning line up completely. Your emotional energy and your awareness move as one thing, and the way you are with people becomes the truest expression of what you actually are.
Detriment: (Mars) Grace that runs without your noticing it. The openness is simply there, unconscious and unmanaged, working on people whether or not you had any say in it.
Line 4 - Sensitivity
Exalted: (Neptune) A plain, unadorned way of meeting people that skips the rituals entirely. You adjust how you are to suit the person in front of you, and dropping the formality is exactly what opens the connection.
Detriment: (Mars) Leaning too hard on the machinery of good form. When the protocol has to be observed before anything real can happen, relationships that might have mattered are cut off before they begin.
Line 5 - Directness
Exalted: (Jupiter) Breaking the social code because a higher principle demands it. When what you feel is true enough, you can step straight past the expected behaviour, and the directness carries its own authority.
Detriment: (Mars) The same directness landing as a shock. It usually gets the result, and it also earns you a name for being blunt or crude, so what comes back at you from others can be harsh.
Line 6 - Maturity
Exalted: (Sun) Years of moving among people ripening into natural authority. Nobody has to appoint you, the leadership is simply evident in how you carry yourself, because the experience and the substance have caught up with each other.
Detriment: (Mars) The same maturity expressed off the beaten track. All that social experience settles into a way of being open that refuses to conform, and you lead, if you lead at all, from outside the expected shape.
