Line 1 - Pleasure
Exalted: (Moon) An instinct for the right moment. You sense when the circumstances will reward an answer rather than punish it, and you recognise that the process of understanding something has its own natural timing.
Detriment: (Earth) Timing cannot be disciplined into existence. When you try to force the moment through sheer willpower, the pleasure sours, and pushing an answer out before its time costs you more than waiting would have.
Line 2 - Acceptance
Exalted: (Moon) Feelings soften the mind here. Like the parent who forgives the child every time, you can recognise that not everyone is able to understand, and you suspend the judgment rather than press it.
Detriment: (Mars) Turning someone else's confusion into your advantage. When the ego notices a gap in another person's understanding and steps into it, the formula becomes a lever rather than a gift.
Line 3 - Irresponsibility
Exalted: (Venus) Here you delight in the elegance of a formula for its own sake, prizing the beauty of the thinking over the person who made it. You can enjoy playing with ideas without worrying whether they ever get put to practical use.
Detriment: (Pluto) Here the mind dresses up avoidance as a fresh change of focus, calling it a new direction rather than a dodge. The danger is building clever justifications for skipping the hard work, then defending them to keep the pattern going.
Line 4 - The Liar
Exalted: (Sun) Role-playing raised to an art. Imagination and invention let you dream your way to a formula and then show it to others through story, and the fantasy carries a real sense of purpose inside it.
Detriment: (Saturn) When you start believing your own story is fact. The fantasy that once served the answer now stands in for it, and time has a way of exposing that eventually.
Line 5 - Seduction
Exalted: (Jupiter) Letting other people carry the responsibility, and being rewarded anyway. You succeed through the understanding of those around you, and recognition arrives without you having earned it in the usual way.
Detriment: (Pluto) Paying lip service to values you stopped believing in. When you always have to defer to someone else's understanding, a quiet cynicism sets in and hollows out the answers you give.
Line 6 - Excess
Exalted: (Mercury) Through experience you build real techniques for holding yourself back. You learn to spot the moment when your understanding is not yet complete, and you find the patience to let the logical process run its full course before acting.
Detriment: (Mars) Here you push past the limit anyway and simply accept the fallout as the cost of going too far. Even when you can see the understanding is unfinished, impatience wins and you charge ahead before the process is ready.
